*Sorry everyone, I accidentally scheduled this for the wrong day and it did not go out at it's usual time*
I like to call us humans beautifully flawed. Why? Because we're all beautiful and we're all imperfect. Our flaws are what make us different.Today we are going to learn about loving the unlovable parts of our bodies. Something may have just popped into your head as I said that. We all have one or several things that we just can't bear about ourselves, and so now I'm asking you to not just like, but love those things? That's a pretty tall order!
I want you to make a list of all of the things that you don't like about your body, here's mine-
- Eyebrow color
- Thighs
- Waist
- Stomach
- Bust
- Bum
- Random freckles
- Eyelid
- Easily flushed cheeks
- Visible blood cell
- Nose
Now make a list of all of the things that you like about your body, here's mine-
- Hair
- Smile
- Nails
- Hands
- Arms
- Eyelashes
- Eyes
- Figure
- Height
- Legs
This may have been harder. I know that as I was making this list, I continued to think of things for the don't like list. Now that you have the two lists, take a look at them. Take a look in the mirror and act as though you have never seen this girl before, what would your first impression be? If it's not a positive one, you are cheating yourself and lying. When you look at someone, do you look for their defects? No! If you do, I suggest a serious thought check.
If you don't do that to others, don't do it to yourself. You deserve to be treated with respect.
Now take that negative list, look at it again. Get disgusted, because those are lies from Satan! Look at the positives list, get excited, because those are truths from God! Now, at the end of the good list, write the things that you used to think were negative about yourself. They always were truths from God, they were all gifts.
Now take the original lies list, do whatever you want to do to dispose of it, shred it, burn it, just get rid of it.
Remember, you don't have to listen to Satan's lies any longer, or the world's for that matter! You don't have to be a model, you just have to be the most BeYOUtiful you!
Thank you for this post! So many girls struggle with self image issues including myself. It is a challange to love yourself, but we all need to learn to do that. :)
