I love to read, babysit, cook, help teach my little siblings, and playing piano. Also, although it may look like it in these pictures I do not wear skirts all the time. BPD15- Jessica's Fashion Show Entry

Sunday, June 15, 2014

Hello everyone!
My name is Jessica Boyer, and I blog with my two younger sisters on our site known as boyerfamilysingers.blogspot.com. I am the first in our family to graduate from being educated at home, and I am a person  who loves: relics of the past; to garden with my family; to craft when I have the time; to go on walks in the early morning; to be active in singing, blogging, and reading, especially the word of God. Although many people think I am the youngest in our family because of my height, I never let that get my goat. I am humbled to know that Christ died to save me from my sins, and pray that I may faithfully run the race that God has allotted me. That is just a snippet of the girl you see down below, and if you want to get to know me and my sisters better you can come watch our Q&A series on our site. Do stop by! You are more than welcome!

I want to say how honored I am to have been asked by Khloe Grace to put up some outfits in her superb Fashion Show. This is the first time I have been a part of something like this, and I want to thank Khloe for inviting me. I hope you all enjoy the outfits I have to share with you all today!
Outfit // Stripes and Silk (Dressy)

I, along with my Mom and two sisters, went to a closing out sale at a vintage shop up in Dayton City in the month of March, and it is there that I found my new favorite dress. As soon as I tried it on I noticed how late 60's, early 70's this garment really was. It still has the simple 60's flare–you can tell by the silhouette and stripe print–and yet there is the unmistakable 70's prairie collar and tie detail. I have tried on many a vintage piece, some ill fitting, some too big, but this one seems to be made just for me, and in fact, Brigi believes that it was tailored for a particular young woman back in its day, as there are no tags to tell us where it came from. I love finding out the story behind vintage garments! But the best part, is the fact that it is 100% silk! Score! Though it was a rather warm day, I didn’t even notice that I was wearing long sleeves! But there! With any such natural fiber, one never really suffers in the heat because of the way the fiber acts to keep one cool and comfortable.

Dress // Vintage; Shoes // DSW; Hair Florets // Borrowed; Earrings // Borrowed

Outfit// Retro Vibe (My Style)

I wore this smashing outfit just as Spring was coming on, and it reminds me of a retro mama who is dressed for going picnicking in park with her little brood. I don't normally pick an outfit that says retro all the way through, as I like a little more ease and comfort in my clothing–you know, the kind that I wear, not the kind that wears me–but this one worked really well. Just enough comfort, and most importantly, style.

I have never actually worn a scarf tied under my chin before, but it really did the trick in keeping the flying locks out of my face during the shoot! It was a windy one! Originally I had it secured loosely around my shoulders, but as soon as we walked out the door, I decided to make like the "fashionable grannies", and tie it up. I now understand why they styled their scarves like this during the vintage era– it was a smart way to keep your hair tidy! I have always admired this look but never had the opportunity to try it on myself. Its a keeper! You should try it too!

Shirt: Gifted // Skirt: Hand-me-up from Charlotte // Shoes: Hand-me-down from Mom // Scarf: Thrifted // Sunglasses: Marshalls // Purse: Gifted // Bangles: Gifted

Outfit// Something Old Something New (Casual)
As the title implies, these garments are a combination of something old–the lovely homemade skirt I swapped from Charlotte–along with something new–this empire waist, steel grey blouse, thrifted from our local GoodWill. (So thankful for that store!)

I wore this casual outfit last year during the hot and rather humid Summer months, and living in Ohio, or just about anywhere in the Midwest for that matter, will give you the extremes of both Summer heat, and Winter cold. When the sweaty days come around, I have the hardest time wearing make-up when it feels like mouth outside, and that is why I am not wearing it here. It brings on the irritable snappy side of me. Not fun. So I just make things easier by not wearing it.

Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention... the white collar is Not attached to my blouse! I found this doily like collar at a local antique store, and knowing how valuable it would be to me when fussing with large gaping necklines I decided it would be a good investment. It does the trick!

BPD14- Paige's Fashion Show Entry

Saturday, June 14, 2014

Hello all! My name is Paige, and I am pleased to be showing you three of my outfits today for Khloe Grace's fashion show.  I enjoy fashioning modest yet stylish outfits, and hope that you like what I have put together here.

This first outfit is an example of what I wear on normal weekday. Blue-green colors are my favorite shades, so I like how the teal tank top picks up on the sweater's stripes of the same color. The cool tones on top go well with the aqua skirt. A silver necklace with a cute arrow pendant gives the outfit a finishing touch.

Next, is a casual weekend outfit. Because I like to wear looser tops with pants, I chose this cute floral print top to wear with my blue jeans. A cardigan keeps off the breeze, while purple Converse are a comfortable shoe to wear for running errands on a Saturday afternoon.

My last outfit is an ensemble that can be worn for dressier occasions. A ruffled floral blouse and knee-length pleated skirt make a delicate, ladylike statement. The lace-up wedges are in keeping with the feminine look. Meanwhile, a short-sleeved brown and white jacket pulls it all together and gives the outfit a more grown up touch.

1st Blog Party!!!

Monday, March 3, 2014

Hi all!  This is a rather exciting post for me, and it will become apparent rather quickly why that is the case:)  I'm going to be holding a blog party June 1-24, guess what for... All Things Good's first blogaversary!!!
I've been planning this for a little while and not everything is finalized yet, but I would like to get it out their so that you all can be included, prepared, and as many people as possible can attend.
I will be doing giveaways, guest posts, linkups and special surprises.  I will also have a few contests, a fashion show, a bible verse/quote picture contest, and a short story contest.
All of these activities will not be able to happen unless you participate!  If time is a worry for you, don't!  That's why I'm telling you all so early!

Here's what I would like to know from you-
  • Would you be interested in guest posting?
  • Would you be interested in entering the fashion show?
  • Would you be interested in sponsoring a giveaway?
  • Would you be interested in publicizing the party on your blog or social media account?
  • Would you be interested in entering the quote/verse contest?
  • Would you be interested in entering the short story contest?
You can do as many as you want!!!

     1. Guest posting

You can do any kind of post that you would like.  All that I ask is that it's clean (I trust you all).

     2. Fashion show

I got a really good response from you girls when I held the Serenity Runway Fashion Show not too long ago.  The contestants loved it and so did you readers!  I'm really excited to be doing it so soon again!
This time there are no categories, however, I would suggest that you vary up your outfits a little.  You need 3 different outfits.  All entries must pass my modesty approval, but once again, I trust you:)

3. Sponsoring a giveaway

If you are interested in sponsoring a giveaway I must take a look at your shop, website, or wherever it is that you do buisness before giving the ok.  It is your choice whether or not to ship internationally.  You will be properly linked to and advertised for.  I will provide you with the contact info for the winner once the giveaway ends.

4. Publicizing

It would mean so much to me to have help from you!  I really want to get as many people as we can for this party and just make it fun!  A blog post would be great, a pin on pinterest, a post on facebook, a tweet on twitter, whatever!  Let's get it out there!  And trust me, it will be worth it for you, I can guarantee it will earn you some giveaway entries:)

5. Verse/quote editing contest

So the gist of this contest is that you take a verse or quote and make it nice with a picture and fun font or however you want to edit it.  Here's some examples-

(Images not mine)

You can enter up to three photos.  Please, no language in any quotes.

6. Short Story Contest

There is no theme, so you have a blank canvas.  All stories must be at least 1000 words and no more than 5000 words.  That line is not that strict, but it is a guideline. I ask that there be no questionable content.

I really, really, really want this to be a big success and be really fun for everyone, so I ask for as much participation as possible.  You will enjoy it too!
Please comment below if you are planning on attending and if you are participating in any of the above-mentioned things.  If you are going to be a part of any of the numbers except 4, please leave a separate comment with our email that will not be published
I would love to know if you've done anything (or are going to do something) to publicize the party.  It would make me so happy!:)
You are not required to comment in order to attend.
Contests will happen as long as I get enough entrants, so it's up to you!  All of the winners will receive a personalized blog button for their blog with their placement and such on it.  Sort of a virtual trophy you might say.
I can't wait to see all of your comments, so comment away!!!

SRFS Day 7: Bajmy Review

Saturday, January 18, 2014

Hey everyone!  Today is the last day of the fashion show, can you believe it?!
Today I'm going to do a long overdue product review (sorry):) for Bajmy!  The winner of the fashion show will be receiving a tester bottle of the same scent that I got of the essential oils perfume "Stella".
"Stella a fine honey wine rose that has been aged to perfection.  Fresh pick roses gathered early in the morning at first bloom with soft dew from the morning sky still upon each delicate petal, wet vetiver root along with honey absolute and dry tart cognac wine. Together they blend seamlessly creating a powdered rose fit for the goddess that you are, along with a touch of grapefruit to add zing and tobacco for depth.
Truly, it’s all a girl really needs.
100% Concentrated natural handmade perfume just the way mother nature intended for it to be.  Oil base perfume are blended with jojoba oil and high vibration all natural essential oil, absolute, and homemade infusions of sorts."  -Bajmy

The packaging was very cute as you can see in the pictures.  The bottle was much smaller than I expected, which was a bit of a disappointment.
The shop owner was very nice to work with.  She was very obliging and courteous.  I had to wait a while for the product because of certain circumstances.  But after looking at customer reviews, I saw that she had very fast delivery to customers and was often given a 5 star rating.
As to the actual scent, it was ok.  Not great.  Don't get me wrong, I do like it just not a lot.  It's definitely not a product I would rave over, however, the scent did start to grow on me.
I didn't like the oiliness of the product, but of course, that is what you get when you get an essential OILS perfume.:)

Customer Service- 7
Product itself- 6
BONUS POINTS- 10 points for packaging!
Overall- 23 out of a possible 30
Thanks again to Bajmy for letting me do this review and for the prize for the winner of the Serenity Runway Fashion Show!

The voting is on the sidebar!  Please vote!!!!

All facts and statements written here are true and are my thoughts (unless otherwise stated).  I was given this product in exchange for my honest review and will hold to that honesty under all circumstances.

SRFS Day 6: Amy

Friday, January 17, 2014

Hello lovelies! My name is Amy, if you don't already know. My best friend is Jesus. My favorite treat is cool whip. My favorite subject in school is waking up to do it. I like my moms waffles, and her. I am the second oldest of 6, and my age: too old to say (14). I like to consider myself weird, but I'm not sure if anyone else agrees! (Hmm...) I would love to stay and tell you all about myself, but I must be off making more happy memories! :-)

God Bless, Amy
Jesus was my first love

I think my favorite outfit of Amy's was her Dressy outfit.  It had a beautiful color scheme of gray, silver and black.  It was very winter cute and just made you feel warm with the long sweater, boots, and bootsocks.  That's something I'm loving right now is boot socks and leggings with long shirts/sweaters.  And I love the little bow around the front.
Amy's blog is Living Water so go ahead and check out, if you like it a lot, make sure to follow!  If you want to vote for Amy be sure to do so tomorrow, the last day of the Serenity Runway Fashion Show!

SRFS Day 5: Paige

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Hello there! My name is Paige, and I am a young lady who takes pleasure in dressing with style. Fashion is one of the ways that I express my creativity. Drawing, (I am currently illustrating children's books), photography, scrapbooking, Photoshop, and occasional crocheting are also hobbies of mine. Though clothing and art are big parts of my life, the most important thing that you should know about me is that I am a follower of my Savior Jesus Christ. I strive to please Him in all areas of my life, including in the way I dress. I hope that you enjoy the outfits that you see here and find them inspiring to your own style!

My favorite outfit of Bekah's would be her My Style outfit.  It's cute feminine outfit with a country look to it.  You have the plaid element, the shawl, the cowgirl boots, but you also have the pinks, purples, and the flower in her hair.
